Terlipressin is an intravenous injection used to improve kidney function in adults with hepatorenal syndrome (a serious complication of liver disease) and to treat bleeding from dilated veins in the esophagus (esophageal varices). It works by constricting blood vessels, which increases blood flow to the kidneys.
